Double-sided butyl tapes can be used to create lap joints in most membranes. Single-sided butyl tapes can be used to seal over the edge of lap joints for extra security.

The tapes create a strong bond that is resistant to the passage of water or air. Specialist strips are available with enhanced protection against the passage of radon gas or methane.
