The Health and Safety of our employees comes first. HS Butyl have implemented several measures within the factory to ensure that we are following the NHS and WHO (World Health Organisation) guidelines and we will continue to manufacture if it is safe to do so.
HS Butyl products provide critical components in the manufacturing process and final applications for several essential activities; ranging from construction, waterproofing, utilities and components within the Electrical industry. During these extraordinary times we continue to support our customers to allow them to maintain the supply chain of important finished goods.
A letter published on 31st March by The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, confirmed that building sites are to remain open for the time being to support vital infrastructure work at this time.
All administrative employees are working from home where possible.
Thanks to the whole HS Butyl team we continue to service our customers and meet the ever-changing demand of the marketplace. We are closely monitoring the supply chain and we will keep close communications with all our customers to understand their requirements.
During this crisis the point of contact has not changed; it is as follows:

Today marks the retirement of Wim van Gelderen from HS Butyl.
With over thirty years of service in our industry including thirteen years working for the Hodgson family at HS Butyl.
Wim joined Hodgson Sealants as part of the acquisition of Scapa Tapes and the Lymington facility.
Despite this big change for Wim his attitude and passion for butyl tapes and sealants have given our business a hugely positive profile in Europe where he has provided excellent service to our customers.
He has made a very valuable contribution to the continued growth of our business and always approached any challenge with a positive mindset.
From personal experience, I know how his excellent relationship with our customers has been invaluable over the years.
I am sure you will all join me in wishing Wim well for his new adventures after butyl tapes!
Stuart Pounder, Commercial Director
